Wisconsin Progress Fellowship Program

The Wisconsin Progress Fellowship program is designed to build and strengthen campaign skills and candidate management experience for those wishing to build a career in progressive politics. The position serves as an important stepping stone to future political jobs and opportunities, such as managing other local campaigns as well as state assembly and senate campaigns.

Fellows work directly with local candidates (e.g. county board, mayor, city council, town and village board, and school board), staff, and volunteers to support local progressive candidates and community organizing efforts. They gain valuable experience in political organizing, voter outreach, data management, communications, and fundraising—critical skills for anyone interested in campaign management, political strategy, public service, or advocacy.

Fellows will serve as a campaign manager/advisor to one or several local candidates, while acting as a liaison between Wisconsin Progress and in cohort with other fellows.

Fellows work between 10-15 hours per week, with $15 an hour compensation.

The 2025-2026 Fellowship Program application opens October 15th, 2025! The program runs December 2025 through April 2026.

If you are not quite sure if campaigns are what you want to do, this is a great place to start. You are supported every step of the way, and are able to create an environment where you can make your own plan and really see if this is something you want to keep pursuing without the risk of burnout.
